Ryan's and Michael's Angels For Down Syndrome

Today was an exciting day for Ryan. He received the “Citizenship Of The Month Award” in his kindergarten class at The Great Neck Road School. He was given special honors all day in school and was so excited when he received his certificate.I am so proud of his achievements and I want to share Ryan’s special day with all of you.

Ryan will be going to the Deauville Gardens School in Copiague in September. in the new Special Needs Children Program there. No more taking the school bus for Ryan as we live around the corner from the school. The teachers there already know Ryan because he has been a fixture at the school during his mom’s volunteer activities with the school’s  PTA association, and he knows most of the teachers there.  He is so excited about going there in September.

This year has been remarkable for Ryan, He has come such a long way, but the road for him, like other children with Downs Syndrome has  not been an easy one. He has to work so hard at learning,  but he loves to learn. He receives physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy as well as participates in a Dancing Program, and has just joined a baseball team for special needs children.   He no longer plays soccer.  He also loves to swim and play with his brothers and his friends., and this past winter he was learning how to ice skate.  Nothing holds Ryan back.  He wants to try everything and his Mom and Dad try to accommodate him within reason of course. He is “gung ho” about everything.  I sure wish I had just 10% of his energy and enthusiasm.

Ryan is such a Joy and a Blessing to us and I thank God each and every day for His Gift of Ryan to us.

FUNDRAISER FOR DOWN SYNDROME AT ADVENTURELAND AMUSEMENT PARK

DATE:           August 15, 2010

PLACE:          Adventureland Amusement Park, Route 110, Farmingdale, L.I.

TIME:            12:00 to 7:00 P.M.

This is Ryan’s and Michael’s Angels For Down Syndrome and Alexander’s Angels 2nd Family Fun Day at Adventureland fundraising event. We had such a blast last year we decided to make this an annual event.  This event is open to everyone so invite your family and friends to come along.  The more the merrier!!

Rather than just have one price for tickets,  this year you can choose which ticket package you would like to purchase. The following are the ticket choices:

1) P.O.P. $20.00 includes all rides

2) P.O.P $11.00 includes rides for individuals with Down Syndrome

3) P.O.P. $26.00 includes rides and food package (includes hot dog, hamburger or chicken nuggets with French fries and a small soda.)

4) P.O.P $16.00 includes rides and food package for individuals
with Down Syndrome.

Tickets can be purchased at the Restaurant Patio near the Train Station in Adventureland Amusement Park on August 15 from 12:00noon to 4:00 P.M.

DO NOT GO TO THE TICKET BOOTH! Please buy your tickets from us so we get credit for the fundraiser.

PLEASE WEAR LAST YEAR’S BUDDY WALK T-SHIRT IF YOU HAVE ONE.
